Members of Rotary Club PH Rebisi Kingdom, Rotractors, beautifies PH International Airport with flowers, tree planting
Authorities of the Port Harcourt International Airport, Omagwa have commended the Rotary club of Port Harcourt Rebisi Kingdom for its commitment to changing its host communities through human capacity service projects.
Managing Director of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigerian FAAN Mrs Olubunmi Kuku made the commendation when some members of the club led by the club’s President Chris Ugo Oguzie carried out planting of flowers and economic trees project around the airport facility.
She said “While we are still basking in happy over the public lavatory your club built for the convenience of our travellers in this facility, you have come again to beautify it with flowers and trees, thank you very much, we are so much happy and we will do all we can to maintain them.”
President of the Rotary Club of Port Harcourt Rebisi Chris Ugo Oguzie said the project is in a bid to alleviate stress from airport guests. He said Rotary shares an interest in protecting the environment.
“We are committed to supporting activities that strengthen the conservation and protection of natural resources, advance ecological sustainability, and foster harmony between communities and the environment.
“All of these projects have been created to create a natural, anxiety-free setting for travellers to retreat to within what is generally a busy and commercial environment.”
Our correspondent reports that the flowers and economic trees planting project is in collaboration with the Rotaract Clubs of Port Harcourt Township, Sliver Valley and Uniport.
