*ARREST OF HON SOKARI GOODBOY: ORASHI MEDIA PRACTITIONERS FORUM DEMANDS HIS IMMEDIATE AND UNCONDITIONAL RELEASE.. DESCRIBES ARREST AS PROVOCATIVE*

Members of Orashi Media Practitioners Forum, journalists from Orashi region of Rivers State have called for immediate and unconditional release of the Member Representing Ahoada West Constituency in the Rivers State House of Assembly, Hon Sokari Goodboy who was allegedly arrested on the orders of Ikwerre LGA Chairman, Samuel Nwanosike at the Wadata plaza of PDP National Secretariat during the Party's NEC meeting in Abuja.

The Orashi Media Practitioners condemned the police action in its entirety and wondered how an Honourable member could be so molested and embarrassed by the police on the orders of an ordinary Council Chairman describing the situation as worrisome, barbaric and unacceptable by Orashi people.

The media moguls said the arrest happened at a time the PDP had one of their peaceful and successful meetings, and the House member, an Orashi proud son was at the plaza to join other supporters to cheer up the Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara as he attended the NEC meeting just as others cheered their governors and other notable personalities that also attended the meeting.

They frowned at the unjust treatment and advised the Nigerian Police to play neutrality in the seeming unfolding political events in Rivers State so as not to aggravate the already tensed situation.

They called for his unconditional release warning that further detention of the Honourable member will snowball into a crisis situation in the state as Orashis are peace loving but fearless people.
